Making Pathfinder your first port of call now could ensure you enjoy a rewarding 2023 as Pathfinder Manager Keeley McConnell explains…

Through all the talk of recession, it’s encouraging to see that our cruise business is on track to return to pre-pandemic levels this year.

Southampton is expected to host almost 500 cruise ship calls in the coming season and that presents a massive opportunity for our staff and those looking to sign on with us.

Pathfinder is the go-to agency for all our subsidiary companies in their labour requirement whether that’s in Southampton, Portsmouth, Liverpool or Dover. Making Pathfinder your preferred partner for working in the cruise industry gives you more choice, more chance of regular work and better opportunities to progress.

Pathfinder’s people requirement this year will be especially strong in the business of valet passenger car parking where our Southampton operations will be boosted by the tandem operation of P&O’s mega ships Iona and Arvia from the port. With around 5,000 passengers on each ship, the weekly requirement to service these two new giants will guarantee regular, lucrative shifts for our staff.

In addition, we will be providing similar services for other ships in the P&O and Cunard fleets, along with baggage handling and other support for our established Southampton cruise line customers.

Making an initial, direct contact with Pathfinder now will be your investment for the future when the UK cruise season takes off in the Spring. Signing up with Pathfinder directly will also enable us to keep you better informed and trained for those upcoming opportunities.

Equally, Portsmouth is growing its cruise offering by carving a niche in the medium and small ship market, not only in terms of day callers but also capturing more turnaround business such as Saga Cruises. That’s particularly good news for our staff in the city, while valet parking for cruise passengers in Dover and baggage and stores work in Liverpool are also set for another good year.

There’s plenty going on behind the scenes as we plan for an exciting 2023 and by signing up now with Pathfinder – the UK’s leading recruitment agency for cruise port work – you can make sure you’re at the front of the queue when the season takes off.
