Cruise and Passenger Services’ volumes at the port of Dover will reach their highest of the season this week as business at the Kent port continues to grow.
The valet parking specialists and Pathfinder sister company will handle some 200 passenger vehicles when the cruise liner Disney Magic embarks at Dover on August 28, representing the biggest single ship operation at the port this summer.
Volumes have been growing steadily with regular sailings by ships including Carnival UK’s Carnival Pride, Hurtigruten’s Maud and Fred Olsen Line’s Bolette. Last week’s call of the Bolette saw over 100 passengers entrust the handling and storage of their cars with CPS.
CPS will handle passenger parking operations for over 60 ship embarkations in Dover this season, in addition to its other operations in Southampton, Liverpool and Portsmouth.
Cruise Operations Manager Louis Colpitts explained: “As Dover becomes a more popular turnaround port for cruise, CPS has witnessed a significant growth in its business with passengers making the most of the excellent parking and vehicle storage facilities.”
